Jeremy Canfield is a designer and technologist based in New York City, focusing primarily on understanding and improving the interaction of citizens with each other and the organizations that serve them.
His work includes designing and building for both civic organizations and corporate clients. He is currently a Service and Experience Designer with 18F, a digital services agency built on the lean startup model based within the United States federal government. He is also a member of the adjunct faculty at the School of Visual Arts MFA in Interaction Design program.
Previously, he was a Senior Experience Designer at R/GA and a Service Designer and resident technologist at Reboot. He has conducted ethnography, service and experience design and development with a wide range of clients, from multinationals to start-ups. Prior to his design consulting work, he was a Code for America fellow, the founder of a mobile gaming start-up, and a technologist at the Government Accountability Office. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech and holds a masters from the University of Michigan in Information Science.
